The first step to becoming a Pro is Divemaster. As a Divemaster you can assist the instructor in teaching Open Water students as well as leading dives for certified divers.
Progression to the next level is OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor). At this level you can teach non divers to become Open Water Divers as well as specialties and other courses.
As a Divemaster or Instructor you will be a sought after asset at any dive centre around the world.

THE FIRST STEP IN YOUR PROFESIONAL DIVING CAREER
At Poseidon we offer both PADI and SSI Divemaster courses. Both are recognised throughout the world and both will enable you to guide dives and assist instructors.
This course will expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to a professional level. It will develop your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors.
During your course as well as spending a lot of time in the water you will also need to study the theory to expand your knowledge.
Your instructor progressively guides you on becoming a dive leader. As your confidence grows you expand your knowledge and skills in the underwater environment. As a part of your daily tasks, you will assist the instructors and divemasters with our dive trips and courses.
You will become part of the Poseidon team which will involve tending to customer needs or guiding certified divers.
Upon certification you will be able and ready to find work anywhere in the world. You will be a role model for other divers, professionalism and exemplary behaviour will be your standards.
DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIPS
During your stay with us you will become a part of the dive center, experiencing day to day life with diving professionals as well as new and experienced divers every day. We will take you from non diver, Open Water Diver or or higher (or equivalent), all the way to Divemaster. This is a priceless opportunity to step in to the professional world. Our Instructors will be on hand to guide, teach and gain experience from. You will be part of the team so you can really relax and feel at home.
In addition to all of this you will also have the opportunity to learn the basics of servicing equipment and also how to use and maintain the compressor as well as interacting with customers, learning how to use the online systems and which form to use with different customers and courses. So much to learn!
FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTABLE
If you don’t yet have 40 logged dives, or are missing any certifications, we can help you. Join our guided dives to increase your diving experience and number of logged dives, or finish any required courses with us.
